Update on our ‘ghost’ pic.

I had sent a copy of our ‘ghost picture’ from Gettysburg to the man who was the guide on our Midnight Ghost tour. Here is what he said about it:

“Thank you for sharing the photos. The round glowing objects I believe to be “Orbs” which are the simplest form of Ghostly energyCaught on film. The long glowing streak appears to be a light rod—which is an indication of a moving supernatural entity. You were fortunate to capture such a interesting picture.”

So in his opinion, it is something paranormal that we caught, which I believe it to be as well.

The paranormal is something I’ve always been interested in, and I’ve always wanted to be a paranormal investigator. In fact, I’m trying to convince Jason that we should start our own paranormal investigation group. We can start out by investigating public areas (similar to Gettysburg), and perhaps even get permission to investigate private or condemned areas. I don’t know, maybe it’s just a pipe dream, but I’m still going to look into it.

End of summer BBQ.

Saturday we had a BBQ at my mother-in-law’s house. The weather was gorgeous, and we had a very enjoyable day. We had hot dogs, hamburgers, macaroni salad, baked beans (my grandma’s recipe), corn on the cob, and zucchini quiche. For dessert, my sister in law made a to-die-for chocolate eclaire cake. We built a campfire in the backyard and sat around catching up on each other’s lives.

I’m very sad to see summer leave, but look forward to autumn. This is my favorite time of year. The weather is neither too hot, nor too cold, the leaves change into gorgeous, festive colors, and best of all the holidays are right around the corner. I’m quite excited for Halloween, and look forward to dressing Julia up and taking her trick or treating.

Patrick Swayze.

One of my most favorite actors, Patrick Swayze, passed away this week after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. I am truly saddened by this, as he’s been my favorite for the better part of the last 20 years. I’ve seen him in Dirty Dancing probably over a hundred times and can recite it nearly word for word. Ghost and Black Dog are two of my other favorites, but I can pretty much sit down and watch any movie if Patrick Swayze is in it.

One of the things I love about Swayze (besides his obvious good looks and acting) is the fact that he’s always been down to earth. He never let his fame get to his head, and he never fell victim to the evils of Hollywood. He was married for 3o+ years, and appeared to be a true romantic, and a genuine gentleman.

My heart goes out to his wife and family, and fellow fans. I hope you’re resting peacefully, Patrick.

Oh, the joys of having a toddler.

The other day Julia woke up a bit earlier than usual. I decided I was going to get her a drink, change her diaper, and maybe she’d go back to sleep for a little while (or at least entertain herself so I could go back to sleep for a little while). I went down stairs and got her some milk and grabbed a diaper. The second I walked into her room I realized why she was up so early – she was pant-less and soaked in pee. Not only was she soaked in pee, but so was her sheet and blankie. Oy.

Needless to say I didn’t get to go back to sleep. I stripped her bed, put on a clean sheet, and took Julia straight to the bathtub.

This morning it was a similar scenario, only this time I forgot to put her to bed with an overnight diaper on. After 12 hours of sleep, her regular diaper was well beyond it’s absorbency capacity. Not only that but she had pooped, and I wasn’t aware – I pulled the diaper off with some gusto, and a dozen or so little turds went flying all over the place. I muffled an ‘Oh, crap.’ (no pun intended), and proceeded to clean up the mess I’d made.

Having a toddler definitely keeps you on your toes. You never know what each day is going to bring. It can be a trying, tiring, stressful, dramatic, crazy job. But it’s also the most rewarding – flying turds and all. I wouldn’t trade a minute of it.

Gettysburg pictures.

Since wordpress seems to take forever to load pictures, I’m going to link the Gettysburg album from my Myspace.

It’s a public album, so everyone should be able to view the pics, but if there are any issues, just le me know. Enjoy! 🙂
